The 'real' fans know about all this, but a lot don't and have a look at eBay or so.
Die echten Fans kennen das Problem, aber eine Menge eBayer oder so eben nicht.

This is part of an E - Mail, that a Buddy Holly fan sent not so long ago:
'Just viewing this site to find his last poster for the SURF Feb 2, 1959
I have one framed that was found ripped and bearing the words.......
'Garage Sale' on the back.
It was mended and now I hang it proudly behind this computer of mine.'

Dies ist nicht die erste Mail, die ich bekomme, wo stolze Fans davon
berichten, dass sie ein Poster vom letzten Auftritt der 3 Stars im SURF
BALLROOM ihr eigen nennen.
Zu diesem Thema habe ich eine Warnung von Bob Hale, der die letzte Show
im Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa am Abend des 2.2.1959 leitete:

Regarding the Winter Dance Party posters:
I hope the word gets out that any colored posters, any posters with "Nick
Benes" as emcee (or any name other than mine) are FAKES !!!!
Ich hoffe, dass sich herumspricht, dass andere Farbposter bzw. Poster mit "Nick
Benes" als Ansager (oder andere Namen als meiner) Fälschungen sind.
"Nick Benes" is a name someone came up with so as not to get in
trouble with me!
"Nick Benes" ist ein Name, den jemand "erfand", um keinen Ärger mit mir
zu bekommen!
And, anyone selling them is dishonest... and anyone buying them is being
"taken" by the seller.
Und, jeder, der sie verkauft, ist unehrenhaft... und jeder, der sie kauft, wird vom
Verkäufer gelinkt.
Such activities are very dishonest and unfair to history.
Solche Aktivitäten sind sehr unehrenhaft und unfair der Geschichte gegenüber.

The ONLY POSTER WE HAD was the one I sent to you.
Das EINZIGE POSTER, DAS WIR HATTEN, war das, was ich Dir geschickt habe.
We had no time to make any "colored" posters; and no one other than
"Bob Hale" was the emcee!!!
Wir hatten nicht die Zeit, irgendein "Farbposter" anzufertigen; und niemand
anderer als "Bob Hale" war der Ansager!
(By the way, people selling fake posters are leaving themselves open
for a law suit!)
(Nebenbei bemerkt: Wer Fälschungen verkauft, riskiert eine Anklage!)
